These eight Centrally Sponsored Schemes were the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, the National Agricultural Development Plan, the Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme, Command Area Development and Water Management, the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for All Movement), the National Rural Health Mission, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Plans. The Activity Map for education, for example, identified some 300 activities relating to the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, about 200 of which needed to be performed at higher levels and the rest at the three-tier panchayat level.
